The Dissolution series, that explores the disconnection of mind to body. The large scale work is meant to consume the viewer and provide a sense of unstructured space of mind. The works are meant to communicate the feelings of a mind not always feeling connected to my physical body. This often results in a disjointed and almost blaming my body and mind for feeling sluggish or run down, when it is mental exhaustion. These grotesque skin forms and abstract organic spaces are my assertions of creating work about my body and mind, but visualizing it as one that is not consumable to the gaze and hard to look at. the backgrounds in this series vary as they are determined when in the process of each painting, but are meant to evoke a state of space in my mind in the process. Each painting is deliberately unique to its experience, and the colours and textures are created through a visual language I use to describe the stimulus.
